This was one of the first best-selling hardcovers under his own name.The other titles that Koontz considered for this novel include "Gates of Dawn" and "Thunder Hill". The initial printing was 45,000 copies, so first editions are moderately difficult to locate and the cost is a bit higher than the casual collector might wish to pay. There was no limited edition.
