This was the second of two books released under the pseudonym Owen West
("The Funhouse" is the other; there is another author named Owen West who is
NOT Dean Koontz). It also marked the first time that Koontz used a quote
attributed to "The Book of Counted Sorrows". This title was revised,
expanded and released under his own name by Berkley in 1988. The only
hardback appearance was in a book club edition.
