Despite having a 45000 copy first printing, the hardback is not too difficult to find, and since the advent of the internet auction sites the prices have begun to come down. The paperback is more readily available and is usually priced well within the casual collector's price range.

You have a first edition of the hardback if there is a $6.95 price on the inside front of the dustjacket and the number series "1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9" on the copyright page. You have the first paperback edition if it states "First Dell printing - February 1976" on the copyright page.
