"Frankenstein" is a modern retelling of the Mary Shelley classic.
Koontz has split billing with different writers for the first two books
but seems to be bumping their credits off with the release of the 3rd book.
Subsequent printings of the first 2 books have no co-writers listed on the covers.
Does that mean the books have been re-written? Who knows? There is also a signed, limited edition printing of Dean's original screenplay of "Frankenstein" that was to be a pilot for USA networks. Two variants were issued by Charnel House: 750 numbered copies bound in a green silk woven fabric from Japan called Silver Wave with a unique foil stamping on the front board, slipcased in a two-color broken-pattern Japanese Mongara-ori silk which sold for $150 each. 26 lettered copies handbound in full green Morocco leather with thick crude stitches randomly hand-stitched through the front and back boards, making each copy unique, housed in a handmade traycase bound in Japanese Mongara-Ori silk which sold for $1600 each. That's why I don't buy Dean Koontz limited edition books anymore. |
