Originally titled Hour of Night but changed to Demon Seed just prior to publication, this is one of the more common paperback originals. Not too difficult to find, and the second printing is considered almost as collectible because it is a movie tie-in edition. The novel was heavily revised, expanded and re-released by Berkley in 1997.

You have a first edition paperback if the copyright page states "A Bantam Book / Published June 1973" and has no other printing history.
