"Darkfall" was originally intended as the third novel under the Owen West
pseudonym, to be published as "The Pit". It was released in hardback in England
as "When Darkness Comes". There was NO trade hardback edition initially
published in the United States. The ONLY American hardcover appearance was a
book club edition, which is only arguably collectible. The paperback should be
relatively easy to locate, and its value will ultimately depend on the
condition of the book and its foil wraps.
You have the first American edition if it is a Berkley paperback with a pinkish-red foil cover and if it states "Berkley edition / October 1984" on the copyright page, but has NO number series printed on that page. |
