This was the first of three novels released using the pseudonym "K.R. Dwyer". It is fairly difficult to find, and the price is usually bit higher than the casual collector might wish to pay. It was never released in paperback in the United States. A revised and expanded version of this novel appeared in the 1995 Koontz anthology "Strange Highways".

You have a first edition if there is a $5.95 price on the dustjacket and if the copyright page states "First Edition" beneath the descending series of numbers: 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2.
