This novel is actually a combination of two earlier novellas: "In The Shield",
originally published in the January, 1969 issue of
Worlds of If
, and "Where the Beast Runs", originally published in the July, 1969 issue of
Worlds of If
. Ace Doubles were published with two full novels in one book. Dean Koontz
appeared on several. This title is backed with "Toyman" by E.C. Tubb. This book
is not too difficult to locate, but the price of Ace Doubles has been growing
steadily. The price will vary depending upon the condition of the
book and the knowledge of the seller.
To the best of my knowledge there was only one printing so any
copy would be a first edition.
